Acclaimed party-starter and radio personality NINA LAS VEGAS has teamed up with her Melbourne producer pal SWICK to create and release their collaborative two-track EP, 'Don't Send / Flash Auto'. Also Nina's first official release, it's a nice little package to precede the pair's forthcoming tour together as part of the NLV Presents series.
'Don't Send' is the first of the two, unfolding the EP with a pebbly beat that fills the air with enough building tension to keep you interested for the entirety of the track. Leading you through a busy crowd with a firm grip of your hand, 'Don't Send' champions an authoritative soundscape.
This is excused just twice, as the abrupt interruption from a manipulated female vocal will have you second guessing the stance of the rough instrumentation's leadership; as it suddenly devolves from a King-like figure to just another guard of the throne.
'Flash Auto' employs an intrusive character, as it fashions a more sinister, sly mask, as opposed to the inviting nature of 'Don't Send'. Due to the way this sense of urgency fuelling the second half of the EP is delivered, it still leaves you wanting to spend time with the track, as the chase of the conquest becomes exceedingly attractive as 'Flash Auto' plays out.
