Live Review: Moon Boots ‘Magic’ + Backyard Boogie Mix Vol.2

MOON BOOTS, our favourite galactic DJ, has returned from orbit to drop his latest single ‘Magic’, via Annie Mac’s Free Music Mondays.

MOON BOOTS, our favourite galactic DJ, has returned from orbit to drop his latest single ‘Magic’, via Annie Mac’s Free Music Mondays.

It’s a fun jumpy track that’s filled with familiar boppy Moon Boots beats. He’s a deft hand at reworking RnB classics (his take on Wayne Wonder’s ‘No Letting Go’ is still one of my top played tracks). ‘Magic’ is actually all new original material, but it maintains the nostalgic dancefloor sound that we associate with the Chicagoan producer. It’s fair to say the man knows how to make disco for modern day audiences.

‘Magic’ weaves together gospel harmonies with spacey synths, and marks the first in a line of several releases which are set to hit the northern hemisphere’s summer season.

In addition to the single release, Moon Boots also recently released the sequel to his well-received Backyard Boogie Mix. Much like the first mix, it’s full of exclusive edits, fun throwbacks for your Thursdays and summer afternoon BBQ vibes.

Like ‘Magic’, it’s a set of songs that are bouncy, percussion laden and ever so listenable. Check both out below.
