Midas.Gold is a rapper from Brisbane coming out with his latest single '$$$' a track that takes inspiration from a lot of modern trap, by being drenched in auto-tune and hard hitting bass.
Midas.Gold on '$$$' takes a lot of inspiration from Future and any other artist in that vein of auto tuned raps over an absolute banger of a beat, so basically any modern rapper in the dirty south (Young Thug, Travis Scott, Migos, etc). While Midas.Gold isn't doing something new when it comes to the world stage, not many Australian based rappers are attempting this kind of sound, this makes him stand out when it comes down to the local level.
'$$$' is a solid track, the influence of rappers like Future and Travis Scott is apparent but Midas.Gold does hold his own by managing a impeccable flow and inflection to his raps. It should also be said again that this song is a banger, the hard hitting drums over the main synth lead draw you in and Midas.Gold's raps fit in with the beat perfectly like they should.
Overall '$$$' is a great track and Midas.Gold shows a lot of promise for a rapper with only two singles out, he's already opened for other artist such as Danny Brown and The Underachievers, not only that but he's recently announced a national tour with Ivan Ooze.
Here's hoping Midas.Gold comes out with a debut release soon.
