Not only has Perth producer Lower Spectrum just signed with Pilerats Records, he has also released one of the best tunes of the year in 'Proxima'.

It's been a pretty big week for Perth's LOWER SPECTRUM. Not only has he been signed to Pilerats Records, but he has also dropped a killer new track that has a LOT of people talking.

Having released critically acclaimed EPs in both 2013 and 2014, Lower Spectrum has been playing a little "hard to get" with fans over the past two years. Thankfully that's all over now, and we have 'Proxima' to celebrate!

'Proxima' is an outstanding song, and shows that Lower Spectrum is absolutely one of the most promising producers in the country. From sinister synths to open with, to a pounding, rave-focused break, soulful vocal samples and the kind of energy you would expect from 90's underground electronica, 'Proxima' has blown any and all expectations out of the water.

Feeling like a tight, complete experience, Lower Spectrum is as much taking you on a journey here as he is showing you just what he's capable.

I mean, there are impressive debuts, and then there's this. Drawing upon influence from dance music's greats like MOBY, he takes their legacy and switches it up to make his own.

Given he is now signed to one of the more innovative labels in the country, we can only expect there is even more Lower Spectrum goodness on the horizon. We just hope it's not a full year wait like last time.
