Live Review: Wayfarer// takes LANKS into a new 'Golden Age'

Melbourne producer and multi-instrumentalist LANKS today shares the stunning 'Golden Age' remix by emerging electronic act Wayfarer// who has a darker take on the track, which as a focus on the lower end of sound and takes away a lot of elements to allow the vocals really come through.

The 'Golden Age' remix by Wayfarer// is dark in the sense that all the production has been stripped down and high end sounds are use a lot less when compared to the original. A lot of the remix focuses on some smooth piano chords while letting the vocals stand on their own, in the original version the vocals are accompanied by a range of loud synths and upbeat drums, so the remix is subverting that and making the track more raw by stripping back on the drums and noise to make something that hits a totally different mood.

I really like the Wayfarer// version of 'Golden Age' it really allows the vocals to shine through because there's less going on with the production and the stuff that is going on with production is great.
