Brisbane-based rapper Kaylah Truth demonstrates why she is known as the "First Lady of BNE" on her latest track, 'Like Crazy'. A sexy, grime-tinged ode to a distant lover, 'Like Crazy' proves Truth is is not messing around when it comes to her rhymes (or her relationship.)

'Like Crazy' opens with pop-influenced synths, but the track soon kicks into second gear with snappy drums and a RnB melody that is undeniably sultry. Also incorporating grime beats with a light touch, Truth manages to steer clear of cliches and creates a track that cannot be contained by a single genre.

Featuring smooth vocals from Maskerade, 'Like Crazy' isn't afraid to talk about sex, babyTruth raps about the life of a touring musician and the stress that puts on relationships, "We're both grown so I'll admit I'm missing you," but the emphasis is on what happens when the lights go out. Her versatile voice is particularly suited to this vibe, reaching into her husky lower range.

The fact that this song is about a same-sex relationship should not be noteworthy, but in the current political climate it is always empowering to see non-hetero couples represented in pop culture. Kaylah Truth is a talented rapper first and foremost, and 'Like Crazy' is a straight-up jam for all kinds of lovers.
