California-based rapper/producer super-artist, and leader of the HBK GANG, IAMSU! has been dropping bombs lately. He's showing no sign of slowing down with his latest track entitled 'Yesterday'.
'Yesterday' is a super-cool slab of throwback hip-hop, sitting somewhere between the realms of jazz and cloud rap both in terms of the instrumental and lyrical content.
Compared to his other work, 'Yesterday' is not for the club, nor is it party music. It's more an introspective journal entry. It's certainly impressive to see the versatility and the other side of IAMSU!, what his thoughts are when away from his hyphy HBK GANG squad tracks.
A relatively short track, at just shy of 3 minutes the track centres around a soulful R&B sample with a chunkily swinging drum beat - a solid slab of golden hip hop perfect to relax to.
