Melbourne band HUNTLY have kicked things off with a bang this year, releasing their latest EP, Songs In Your Name, recently via Neat Lawn. We named Huntly as one of our artists to watch, and with good reason. 2016 was an incredibly formative year for the group having appeared as part of the BIGSOUND showcase, as well as touring quite extensively. Even despite their busy schedule, Huntly still found time to record new music, and they are showing no signs of slowing down. One particular track we can't get enough of from their latest body of work is 'Tempelhof.'
This tune is a nostalgic nod to the early 00s, with serious slowed down RnB vibes. The melody is simple, but there's a lot of layers to this track. The broken beats flirt with electronic wobbles and are woven together by a warm marriage of alto vocals. The slowness of this track is seductive. I love that when you're fully relaxed and vibing the track that Huntly bring in a fun little breaks hook to cap the song off.
