Hoodlem is a Melbourne Based duo that just released their latest single '4 Real' which is a single from their self titled debut EP dropping March 25th.

The track has pop elements but with notable bite to them, the production has a focus on the lower end of the spectrum, with a wobble bass and a kick drum that makes all other sounds dip whenever it hits, emphasizing the rhythm of the track a substantial amount and making it more off-kilter. Other subtle effects and one off samples are scattered across the entire track, it's interesting because elements are foreshadowed early in the track but pay off way later in the track, the song is subtle like that so you need to keep an ear out.

The vocal performance is rich the main vocal track does a great job portraying emotion and with the added in vocal tracks and effects that modulate the vocals adds a layer of depth to the track which one would not normally find in a pop song.

'4 Real' is a great track by Hoodlem and should be heard both with a speaker set-up and headphones - because there's so much in this track to pick up on. '4 Real' should get you ready for Hoodlem's self titled debut on the 25th of March.
