London producer, HENRY WU, has been incredibly proactive over the past few months. Pushing out his, Negotiate EP, as well as his collaborative single with, Mo Kolours, he's since revealed a brand new EP, Motions Of Wu Vol. 1.
Released through Berlin-based label, Odd Socks Records, as a Record Store Day exclusive, Henry Wu has crafted four soulful jams that differ from each other in various ways, yet maintain a jovial groove and aesthetic to keep the bundle unified.
'Midtour' punches through with futuristic samples, an underlying vocal hum and a bassline that is just way too smooth for its own good. This extroverted opener shifts us over to, 'Sumner Road', a jam taken aback from the spotlight in that it modestly twinkles on with a young yet able demeanour. Consider the sweet vinyl crackle and you've got an effortlessly cool tune that should be listened to alone for that feel-good lift.
The later half of Motions Of Wu Vol. 1 presents us with '117 Careplan'; a cosmic episode of transcendent waves surfed by spongey samples and rickety beats.
Holding us to one last drink is the EP's final chapter, 'Back To Brukka'. A real loungey tune, the pitter patter of a blunt beat against the creeping slow groove and returned crackly atmosphere eases us into total oblivion.

By the time the EP rolls out into an unwanted silence, we as an audience suddenly find ourselves returning to a reality far too soon, that we may as well hit the repeat button.
Henry Wu's Motions Of Wu Vol. 1 is available now for physical purchase via Odd Socks Records. Keep up with the label's Facebook page for info on digital release details!
