Hot Milk On Touring Australia & Refusing To Sell Out: 'We’re Never Complacent'

Live Review: HANA 'Avalanche'

Grimes' protege HANA teams up with Blood Diamonds for her second-ever track, 'Avalanche', and has already been endorsed by Lorde and Lana Del Rey.

Being Grimes' protege is no mean feat, and HANA is doing a pretty great job of showing everyone why. Releasing her second song ever recently in 'Avalanche', all eyes are on her to see if she's got what it takes. Luckily for her, however, her tracks speak for themselves, and she definitely does.

Produced by Blood Diamonds, 'Avalanche' comes after the release of 'Clay' in May. The track saw endorsements from GrimesLorde, and Lana Del Rey, and was a delicate slice of eclectic pop. Whoever wasn't sold with 'Clay' may find themselves shifting in their opinions now with 'Avalanche', as HANA further hones her sound and finds her feet.

A little darker, a little more intriguing and a lot more interesting to listen to, 'Avalanche' is unsuspecting, persistent and a very strong second single. A dull thud echoes throughout the track as HANA shows off her huge vocal range, whilst spliced vocal harmonies and samples is laid down thanks to Blood Diamonds. It's deceptively a simple slowburner, with more and more revealed on each listen.

There is no word yet on any further releases, but considering the company she is keeping, we could hazard a guess that we will be hearing a lot more of HANA in the months to come!
