Florida native, Eric Biddines, returns with his London partner-in-rhyme Paul White to release their latest track as GOLDEN RULES, ‘Down South Boogie’.
The track is the third single taken from their imminently released album, Golden Ticket. Elocution isn’t top priority on the track, as Biddines’ southern slur lazily waxes lyrical, like a slowed down scat man, over laidback funk-filled six strings.
The drum beats come thick and heavy, punctuating the 70s funky guitar to tap into a style which is ever so a la mode, in the same vein as Thundercat, Bon Voyage and Lion Babe. It's an old school number which shows Golden Rules' to be flexing their muscles. The only downside of the track is that it's cut somewhat short at only 2.25 mins. It's brief but says what Golden Rules wanted to say: we're here, and we're funky.
Golden Rules are positioning themselves amongst a good sonic set for the release of their debut album, ‘Golden Ticket’, available for pre-order now and released on August 7 via Lex Records. The physical release comes as, you guessed it, a golden coloured vinyl.
