'Run Away' is Feki's freshest track set to kick off his domination of 2017, with an upcoming music video and tour supporting Snakehips. It's Feki's year.
‘Run Away’ is the freshest hit from FEKI, the Brisbane-based producer who is about to start living 2017 hard. With his new track out, a new video on the way and the news that he is soon to be supporting on the absolute mammoth SNAKEHIPS tour, it’s obvious that Feki is pushing on up.
Feki’s latest track is absolutely buoyant, it’s a distilled sense of euphoria, perfectly capturing what it feels like to ask to run away with someone. Edited vocals draw us in and are paired with organic percussion to create the distinctly Feki feeling. It’s a sweet build up that is pre-empted by the lyric, “I could feel the fire in your eyes”. The entire song is an ode to the explosive moment where you decide to do something big, to run away, to make a change or go further with someone. It achieves this in the delightful build up which paves the way for an all out ecstatic drop to get down to. A highlight of the song is the near hidden but perfectly executed samples throughout: the tinkling of glasses, the sucking through a straw or the light tickles of the high hats before the drop. It gives the song an edge, a soundscape feel rather than being yet another club song with a drop.
Feki’s tour with Snakehips isn’t his only big news, Feki will appear at the Hard Grime Festival on March 4th along with many Australian favourites. He’s also been hard at work churning our remixes for Mansonair and Alison In Wonderland’s mega collab with M-Phazes, 'Messiah'. It's so good to have Feki back.
