Remixes are a funny beast. Get it right and you give a song a whole new life that is appreciated by an entirely new audience. Get it wrong and everyone hates you for ruining everything. Thankfully the guys behind OLIVER TANK picked a talented bunch of folks to remix his haunting EP Dreams.
This EP is like a little snapshot of artists to look out for in 2012. Highlights include swoony indie poppers SLEEPYHANDS creating an authentically chilling version of ‘The Last Time’, Sydney two-piece FLWRGN delivering a spaced out reinvention of ‘Last Night I Saw Everything in Slow Motion’ and MAGIC SILVER WHITE upping the bass in a danceable remix of ‘I Love You’.
The beauty of this re-imagined EP is that while each collaborator brings their own unique sound to their remix, the EP still maintains its ponderous, ghostly nature. But where the original works as a soothing lullaby, this remixed version will keep you going well into the night.
