Previously working under the name Loudun, Sydney producer DONATACHI has changed his name and stepped up his game with his latest release. Teaming up with fresh-on-the-scene vocalist Blair De Milo, the pair create a sonic, oriental-infused feast in 'Neo'.
Significantly different from the eclectic creations of the Loudun project, the fresh and exciting new sounds of Donatachi can only mean good things for the newcomer. Combining the sounds of trickling water, a Japanese Koto and crisp hip hop beats, he lays down a bed of soothing electronica primed for De Milo's soft, soulful vocals to come in.
Donatachi's production continues to keep popping with a plethora of unsuspecting sounds and swirls, yet the song never stops with it's soothing, chilled grooves. Even towards the end with some surprising beatboxing, the production chops on display here from Donatachi are as impressive as they are promising.
The duo work perfectly together, giving new life to the at times worn out sounds of electro-R&B. Undeniably ones to watch in the months ahead, 'Neo' is a textured and exciting electronic dream.
