Dance legends Cut Copy bring four of their 'Freeze, Melt' songs to life all over again with special remixes by some of their favourite artists.
GRAMMY-nominated, ARIA award-winning electronic legends Cut Copy have released a new EP. Containing reworks of songs taken from their sixth studio album, Freeze, Melt which dropped earlier this year, this remix EP brings album highlights to life in totally new ways.
Recruiting none other than Octo Octa for 'Love Is All We Share', Fantastic Man for 'Like Breaking Glass', Luke Abbott for 'Cold Water' and Leo James for 'Rain', the four-track remix EP is out now via Cut Copy's own Cutters Records/The Orchard. It follows a string of other separate remixes not included in this EP courtesy of the likes of Patrick Holland (Project Pablo), Kaitlin Aurelia Smith, Jacques Le Cont and more.
Cut Copy’s Dan Whitford explains of the EP, “The ‘Freeze, Melt Remixes’ EP compiles 4 new remixes of tracks from our new album from some great producers. Octo Octa’s 'resonant body' has been one of my favourite dance records of last year, and Luke Abbott has constantly surprised with unique sounds over the past ten years, so we were very excited to have both of them included. Also our fellow countrymen Fantastic Man and Leo James bring diverse ideas to the table. Fantastic Man’s dance floor ready acid re-take on 'Like Breaking Glass' is up to his usual high standards, and Leo James takes the tempo right down with an unexpected dub version of 'Rain', with added saxophone from NO ZU’s Cain Borthwick. I hope everyone enjoys the release as much as we’ve enjoyed hearing these remixes come back.”
Right on time for summer and some eased social distancing restrictions, this remix EP is sure to bring some uplifting joy to listeners. Listen to the EP below, and for more Cut Copy read our in-depth chat with Whitford on Freeze, Melt right here.
