CONNIE CONSTANCE has made a thunderous entry to the music world. After her debut release ‘Stars’, and collaborations with Blue Daisy, Connie Constance has dropped her second track ‘Euphoric’ from her soon to be released debut EP In The Grass.
Picking up the art of singing in her late teens, this 20-year-old set out to be a professional dancer. But with the talent of a songwriter inside, writing short poems from a young age, when a friend introduced her to producer Blue Daisy her creative talent, as a musician was unleashed.
Premiered on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio1 Show, ‘Euphoric’, starts like a music box, winding down to silence before Constance’s vocals kick in. Telling the story through A capalla singing, highlighting her background as a poet. The track over all has a very minimalist sound, focusing on the lyrics. The voice is at times synthesised giving it a warped sound. If you listen to the lyrics you will learn that the sense of Euphoria discussed comes not just from love, but also through being high, emphasising a warped feeling.
As the track begins to wind down, the musical side of it picks up. Percussion begins, keyboard takes over and the song moves from poetic to musical. This is a very quick section of the track before it winds out again. It’s almost like the feeling of a short term euphoria, vanishing as quickly as it came.
Connie Constance’s debut EP, In The Grass, will be released on September 25 through Black Acre. It has been produced by Blue Daisy, who also has an album due out on the 25th.
