Sweet, innocence hiding a deeper, darker center - Central Coast duo CHYMES' debut single 'Oracle' is multi-layered masterpiece of dream-pop.

A new unit, Chymes, met working on another project where they discovered they both loved the same kinds of music and that their voices entwined together perfectly. It was later, however, that they would discover the creative combination their shared songwriting would be.

Contrasting dark themes and lyrics with light, sweet sounds, 'Oracle' is something of an oxymoron, challenging the typical view innocence. Light pad sounds give the song a soft ambiance, with the sweetness of both Kiersten Nyman's voice and the warmth of Cameron Taylor's harmonies create the innocent facade of the song. However, the lyrics are somewhat mysterious. Although the song is, according to Chyme, about the self-destructive nature of fantasying about what you could be, they lyrics chosen are very open ended and there is little doubt that fans will attach their own meanings to the song, which is exactly what the duo wanted. "We wanted to keep the lyrics somewhat ambiguous so the listener can provide their own meaning, it could mean anything to anyone."
