Live Review: Big Wild’s CHRVCHES remix is no 'Empty Threat'

Following a performance at Coachella last weekend, Big Wild has unveiled a brand new remix of CHVRCHES’ 'Empty Threat'. The remix is featured on CHVRCHES’ recent limited edition Record Store Day 12” vinyl.

Big Wild does a great job with this remix by modernising the very 80's styled track 'Empty Threat' by adding in not only more modern sounds but also a more club like song format that features more drops and build ups. The remix starts off with some upbeat synth hits before the vocals from CHVRCHES come in, after that point the track starts building up to a drop which contains all these retro video game sounding synths and string stabs. The song is dynamic and has heaps of musical elements to it that make each verse and chorus interesting.

Compared to the original Big Wild's remix is more of a dance oriented track which heaps of dynamic range and more modern sounds, if you were fortunate enough to pick this up on record store day then you were probably really satisfied with what you got. I look forward to hearing more of Big Wild and hopefully he has more music planned for the rest of the year.
