Live Review: Casper Cult 'Industrial Love' (Stax Osset Remix)

In a male dominated industry, it’s always quite refreshing to hear a female producer who’s got something new and killer to bring to the table, particularly when it props our ears up straight away.

Dubbed as one of our Artists To Watch In 2015, STAX OSSET is one huge force to be reckoned with. Her music is self described as “alien dream pop”, and it’s a pretty spot on description. This is most particularly evident in her recent take on CASPER CULT’s single ‘Industrial Love’.

STAX OSSET has done her thing and morphed the track into this beautiful amalgamation of wonder. It’s dreamy, gorgeous and quite entrancing. Aside from those adjectives, it’s also quite captivating, which I think is the most imminent quality within her music.

I think when dabbling in ambience and atmospheric sounds, it’s quite easy to create a song that gets quite lost in the sounds and in turn becomes soothing to a point where it’s hard to differentiate different points in the song. However, I think she’s done extremely well in separating the sounds from each other and in turn, making a point of individualizing every portion of the song.

STAX OSSET means business, and 2015 is only going to be bigger and bigger for the artist. If this is just a taste of the year, I’m so excited to hear more from this huge up and comer.
