Live Review: Listen to the constantly evolving debut single from Brutalist

'Strep' is the debut single from Brutalist (a project between LUCIANBLOMKAMP & Seekae's John Hassell) which is coming out with it's 1st mixtape in August.

'Strep' is the debut single from Brutalist (a project between LUCIANBLOMKAMP & Seekae's John Hassell) which is coming out with it's 1st mixtape in August.

The style of Brutalist is electronic music with a solid focus on atmosphere. The music here goes through a mix of emotions, from warm synths to harsher broken drums, all of it transitions well between sections and creates this atmosphere of uneasy beauty. John Hassel explains:

"This track really marks the beginning of Brutalist, with the only real intention being that it should constantly evolve. 'Strep' went on to set the tone for the rest of the mixtape, and we always considered it the anchor of the release. We wanted to make something beautiful and unsettling at the same time; saturated and warm, yet piercing at points. Giving everything it's own space and forcing the pieces together, kind of like an improvised jigsaw puzzle."

The music is deep, you can listen to it over and over to find new details every time, if the release in August is like this track it's going to be full of dense, interesting music which people are surely going to enjoy.
