Live Review: Bag Raiders ‘Shooting Stars' (POOLCLVB Cover)

Back in 2009, a little duo from Sydney called BAG RAIDERS put out possibly their biggest single to date.

It was called ‘Shooting Stars’, and still to this day remains anthemic in its state and transcendent in its sounds.

I think every teenager/young adult growing up had a phase with this song. I know I did, and I probably still am. But if one thing is for certain, it’s one of those songs that you just know all of the words to.

POOLCLVB has put their spin on this incredible number, and it’s definitely one for the poolside.

It’s stripped back in terms of layers, but in sound, it’s a little more adolescent. Pair this with a killer bass line and a technicolour application of subtle synths to the rainbow of sound, and you’ve got this complex take that’s teeming with life.

POOLCLVB has done something important here. They’ve turned ‘Shooting Stars’ entirely on its head, yet they’ve done incredible justice to Bag Raiders’ incredible original.
