AR Ferdinand's 'Lately' is a savoury slice of atmospheric cool. Taking the already present warmth of the track, Pencilvestyr has turned up the funk by sharpening the hip hop beats. 'Lately' is packed with sharp percussion, and layers upon layers of shimmering instruments. Unbelievably danceable, the track's tempo is perfect for a summer time boogie.
Feature artist Daphne has a voice that is an absolute pleasure to listen to. The artist harmonises with herself, creating a multileveled earnestness to the vocals. Late one Sunday night, AR Ferdinand sent Daphne the song, instantly sparking a connection and driving the passion behind the lyrics.
An El Salvador local, AR Ferdinand wrote the song after vacationing in Lake Coatepeque. Surrounded by friend's in his own personal paradise, 'Lately's warmth and charm were inevitable.

Due out in March, AR Ferdinand's debut album Wild Fiction is sure to be packed with contemporary coolness and chic innovation. “'Lately' is one of the many tastes that the album has to offer, I think it’s a perfect representation of what I’ve been working on for the past 3 years" says the artist on his upcoming LP release.
