Live Review: Let Tepu bring you over from the 'Darkside'

New musicians are popping up every day, and we get so excited when we find a gem in the middle of the busy crowd. Tepu is based in Los Angeles and has brought a fantastic new track called 'Darkside' out into the world. His music is quite personal, as he writes, produces and masters tracks all on his own. So let's go ahead and meet Tepu, shall we?

'Darkside' kind of leaps out at you when you least expect it. It stays quiet until a burst of synths and vocals suddenly appear and you feel like you've never heard anything more vibrant. If we could compare 'Darkside' to anything non-musical, it would be Rainbow Road on Mario Kart.

The vocals are embedded in the melody and they both release an energy that feels so intoxicating. This is a hot summer day in a track, one where you're extremely happy and just can't help but smile at everyone and dance in the street. Futuristic pop would suit this track well but it's probably not a good idea to put Tepu in a genre box just yet, because if he continues to produce work like this, he's not exactly going to be the conforming type.

'Darkside' is a breath of fresh air and Tepu has a very promising future. Your summer playlist is probably looking quite full at the moment, but it's probably a good idea to add Tepu onto it because after listening to 'Darkside', you're going to need it in your life.
