Say goodbye to New York minutes and hello to New York two-and-a-half minutes because that is exactly what you’re getting from KNOE with his newest single, ‘Manhattan Summer’. Featuring the vocal stylings of fellow Perth local Paloma, ‘Manhattan Summer’ blends a multiple of musical styles from lofi hip hop to jazz, embodying sonically what Manhattan is realistically- a melting pot of cultures and ideas. It’s a sophisticated track, with themes of summer love and desperation splashed with undeniable panache.
KNOE was inspired to write ‘Manhattan Summer’ following his time spent in, you guessed it, Manhattan during summer, where he noticed surprising parallels between falling head over heels for both people and places. “In reminiscence of that summer, I noticed a crazy similarity between the way I felt for a woman and the way I felt for the city”, he explains. It is a feeling that anyone lucky enough to visit the metropolis of NYC can surely understand.

‘Manhattan Summer’ arrives following the release of the artist’s second EP Reasons in 2019 and latest single ‘Down’. Having been in the game for several years now, KNOE has built up a loyal fanbase and deservedly so, as he continues to break down barriers both as a rapper and stylistically through his musical compositions, a true example of what it means to be a hip hop artist in the 21st century.
