At 34 years old, Kate McLennan hasn't quite got her ducks in a row. Lacking money, a smug Facebook relationship status and a Thermomix, McLennan explores her personal failings in an entertaining stand-up performance. She draws heavily on family dynamics, effortlessly slipping into impressions of her parents that beautifully hit the mark. Conversations with her mum consist of three subjects – weather, dinner and death – while Pockets (her dad) takes more time to remind her to check her car's oil and water than he does discussing his battles with cancer. McLennan's stories pay off. The Duck's Nuts is an engaging show.
