Album Review: Justin Bernasconi - Winter Pick

Beginning with the broad, opening strums of the title track, Bernasconi's expertise with his instrument is immediately and consistently evident. However, the Stillsons songwriter's debut solo album is more than that. Paying homage to a plethora of styles, Bernasconi makes it deeply personal right from the start. Winter Pick is a refreshingly liberating release that resonates with Bernasconi's connection to the histories behind acoustic guitar, seemingly recorded and produced for himself as something he can be proud of. Rightly so; the album is a brilliant portrayal of the man's prowess, songwriting and soul.
