"The soundtrack is self-aware and badarse, but conjures the occasional cringe. Much like the anti-hero himself."

More Junkie XL More Junkie XL

A good soundtrack is one that works well with the movie; a fantastic one works without it as well.

The Deadpool soundtrack, comprised of tracks by Junkie XL and peppered with the occasional licensed tune, is almost the latter, but is let down by its gimmicky moments. Deadpool Rap is almost unlistenable, and hearing DMX or Salt-N-Pepa between cinematic electronica is jarring. Still, Junkie's tracks offer an almost-punk bass and nu-retro synth leads. A particular stand-out is the aptly titled Man In A Red Suit. The soundtrack is self-aware and badarse, but conjures the occasional cringe. Much like the anti-hero himself.
