Joey Page: Jowie

"... Felt disorganised and directionless."

With a quick venue change for opening night, Joey Page dove into the show like a fish out of water.

The British stand-up comedian, dressed head to toe in a tight leather outfit, began thrusting with homemade aluminium skis as the crowd were left scratching their heads. Stripping down to a light blue outfit, Page settled into Kanye West jokes, quizzing the audience and playing strange games that ended in a one-man foam party consisting of Page throwing foam objects and foam on a male audience member.

Looking at Page, the audience wasn't sure if he was drunk or nervous or what. The show felt disorganised and directionless, like he hadn't had time to rehearse. His quirky jokes produced little laughter, as they didn't make sense; maybe it was the British humour the audience didn't understand. The Jaws theme song was his strip anthem as he took his pants off each time, finally becoming a lifeguard, and it definitely felt like Page had hit shark-infested waters. Hopefully it was just some opening night teething.
