Album Review: Jens Lekman - Life Will See You Now

StarStarStarStar

"Smooth, sweet, but with a little bit of flavour that snuggles in behind your back tooth."

More Jens Lekman Jens Lekman

The Swedish crooner with a voice like a Cherry Ripe - smooth, sweet, but with a little bit of flavour that snuggles in behind your back tooth - is back with his fourth record.

Although it's more upbeat in nature than some of his earlier work, Lekman's gonna make you work for it. A common theme across Life Will See You Now is the inclusion of lavish arrangements that verge on tropicalia (following lead single What's That Perfume You Wear? with Our First Fight proves an inspired move). They add layers of aural pleasure making Life Will See You Now a gem.
