Album Review: James - Girl At The End Of The World

"Densely produced with heavy electronics almost suffocating the guitars in places, it's James' most emotional album."

More James More James

There's a lyric in Dear John that causes concern: "I wrote this song to tell you I'm leaving...".

It's sound like Tim Booth calling quits on James like he did on 1999's I Know What I'm Here For. Bitch also suggests restlessness so hopefully, this 12th album isn't coded to signal another exit. Densely produced with heavy electronics almost suffocating the guitars in places, it's James' most emotional album since Pleased To Meet You. However Nothing But Love -- the sound of too many people joyously crammed into a tiny pub caterwauling out of tune — makes everything sound perfectly 'right' in James' world.
