Album Review: James Brown - Get On Up

Here’s a man who really needs no introductions.But in the unfathomably unlikely event you’ve only just become aware that music existed before Radiohead, here are 20 compelling reasons why James Brown was the undisputed king of super dynamite soul.

A mostly faultless compilation that gravitates toward the lean, heavy funk of JB’s late-‘60s/early-‘70s phase, the only possible quibble I can possibly scrape up is that there are already numerous impressive ‘best of’ discs on the market, most eminently the four-disc bonanza Star Time.
