Jacqueline Mifsud's story is one of joy and empowerment. Not necessarily because of the way it ends or even Mifsud's genial demeanour, but because it boasts a message of self-love (in more ways than one) and overcoming personal demons.
Her tales of living it up in Paris, coupled with the woes of break-ups and "blanket burritos", are a charming balance of off-kilter and resonant comedy. While Mifsud herself is occasionally victim to the loose threads of some off-the-cuff musings, her stream-of-consciousness style is inviting and easily accessible. If all else fails, the phrase "C'est la vie, dickheads" will surely entertain.
