"The group have a hint of accessibility."
Slam death metal isn't known for its innovation.
The genre is focused on knuckle-dragging riffs, bestial vocals and “slamming” beats. In this way, Ingested's The Architect Of Extinction achieves. A touch more hardcore-influenced than some other bands in the genre, the group have a hint of accessibility. The Divine Right of Kings and I, Despoiler seem far more likely to get played at a metal club than a track from Suffocation or Jungle Rot, with Penance bordering on melodeath. The band won't alter the direction of slam, but might coax a few melodic metal-heads over to the dark side.
