"A much more assured piece of art."
Holy Serpent have delivered a much more assured piece of art on their second recording.
Opener Purification By Fire, and recent single Toward The Sands, beckon a more mature, concentric and powerful version of the band, tearing through to the forefront on Bury Me Standing, where Scott Penberthy's vocals bear resemblance to Ghost's Papa Emeritus III. Sativan Harvest and The Black Stone morph into one tumultuous 20-minute sabbatical, Holy Serpent diving into the heaviness of their maiden release, yet exploring melodies in a way they have not done in the past.
