Drenched in lo-fi beats and gorgeous lyricism, 'Parellel and Repeat' is about your past catching up with your present.

After receiving monstrous acclaim for their debut single ‘Caving’, which explored the encompassing fear of being exposed, SEAVERA have exceeded expectations again with their follow-up track, the enchanting ‘Parallel and Repeat.’

The Northern NSW-bred, Melbourne-based duo demonstrate a deep understanding of layering sounds on the magical cut from their upcoming EP, to be released in early 2017. Written as an open confession to past loves, the song is drenched in lo-fi beats and glimmering layers, with Tori Zietsch’s soaring yet dainty vocals carrying the song along. Daniel Pinkerton’s meticulous production offers the song a complexity not often seen by newcomers, as the song endlessly builds to a glorious climax with a new layer added after every verse. This track is ready for your local pub and for large festival stages – a quality that some of our biggest artists are yet to achieve.

Lyrically, the song is like bloody poetry. The track was written in the late afternoon after reading an essay George Orwell wrote, on speaking with intention. “Lately, I’ve compared the way you move with the way his body spoke,” Zietsch sings as she realises that her past is catching up with her present, and she doesn’t know which route she wants to take.

In a statement provided by the duo, they said, “We envisioned the song creeping inside the walls of an old cathedral and tried to imagine what it would feel like if it were overtaken by the elements of the earth. ‘Parallel and Repeat’ is an impassioned offering, within it a constellation of frustration and hopefulness.” Listening to ‘Parallel and Repeat’, it’s all-encompassing nature combined with the dark production gives the entire thing this eerie feel that is going to give you goosebumps all over.

‘Parallel and Repeat’ will feature on the band’s debut EP – out early 2017. You can catch them on tour supporting Jack River in early December. Full deets below.
