Noongar man Ian Michael plays six characters; real people who have been interviewed for this show (including himself).
The characters, Indigenous men, span generations and each have their own personal story to tell about the Stolen Generation era and its prolonged effects on them — touching on topics like separation, alcoholism, abandonment, assimilation. The one thing they have in common is pain and resilience. It's not all heartbreak, though, as performer Michael manages to bring sweet anecdotes and a hopeful ray into the woven narrative of this compelling verbatim work that reiterates this always was and always will be Aboriginal land.
