Live Review: World Champion's live guest mix is packed with a multitude of genres

Sydney trio World Champion dropped by Purple Sneakers on FBi Radio last weekend for a chat and a guest mix ahead of their set at UNDR ctrl's 5th birthday.

Sydney trio WORLD CHAMPION are currently off the back of their second EP, Skyline. The seven-tracker saw them returning to their home at Future Classic and delivering a release that never once ties them to any one sound, instead working as a showcase for the trio's varying musical interests.

The EP dots in hints of psychedelia, indie-rock, dance, funk, slacker rock and more throughout, with singles 'Gun', 'Callisto' and 'Nevermind' carrying through these sounds immensely. Recorded between Sydney and LA, the band have put forth their most bold and explorative work yet.

They dropped by Purple Sneakers on FBi Radio over the weekend to chat about the EP, photo ops with MC Hammer and their performance at UNDR ctrl's 5th birthday party last week at the Red Rattler Theatre. You can listen back to the full chat here.

Listen back to their live guest mix below and be sure to tune into Purple Sneakers on FBi Radio from 5-6PM every Saturday night locally at 94.5FM or DAB+ or stream online at fbiradio.com.
