We're very lucky here at Purple Sneakers to have an enthusiastic team of contributors stationed all around the country. What you may not realise, is how damn talented they are in their own pursuits. One of our writers, Michael Stratford Hutch AKA MSH is a budding interdisciplinary artist and DJ, and we love their sound so much, we got them to put together the guest mix for our radio show on FBi Radio last week.

Working and creating on Gadigal land in Sydney, their DJing blends elements of global club cultures, UK rave traditions and post-internet sounds for a melting pot of high-energy, pulsing sounds each with context and purpose.

Their mix includes a menagerie of sounds being listened to in their spare time, including conceptual artistry from Lokane whose Wings EP aimed to take US rap sounds to the UK underground, London's Basic Rhythm getting straight to the point on 'Too Nuff' and the post-club Jersey sounds of Miss Modular on 'Earplug'.

There's not a slow moment on this mix, clocking in at an even 140BPM all the way through.

You can hear mixes like this one every Saturday on Purple Sneakers on FBi Radio from 5-6PM AEST. Dial in locally at 94.5FM or DAB+ or stream online at fbiradio.com.
