With his second EP, Together, out last month, MICKEY KOJAK's spent the better part of this last month out on the road, hitting stages across the town with his synth-heavy, infectious live show. The versatile musician always seems to find a way to outdo himself with each release, and Together is no exception.
It's rare for a live artist to incorporate so many elements of sounds that are traditionally considered to be more on the rave end of the spectrum, particularly making use of the classic Roland TB-303 in a context outside of purely 'club' music. But Kojak's made it his own, bringing heavier elements of club sounds in with his structured style of songwriting. In his taking elements of other genres and mixing them with his own style of creating, he's managed to strike a spectacular balance, one that he's managed to perfect in his live show too.
Over the weekend, Kojak stopped by our show on FBi Radio to chat about the EP, democracy sausages, the live tour and his extensive synth collection. He also did a sneaky lil live mix, teeming with his own remixes and edits of his tracks, taking them further down the club rabbit hole. It's twenty and a bit straight minutes of disco-Kojak, topped off with all of your faves from his back catalogue and as many different club ready bangers as he could fit in.
