Earlier this year, Sydney's rising star SORTAGOTH released what is undeniably one of her best tracks yet in 'Body Heat'. Intense, captivating and genre-bending, she released it via Japanese record label, dos・ing (Dreaming of Sleeping) as part of a compilation, and we knew we had to hear more.
Now, we can, thanks to labelhead, DJ and pioneer of genre-defying music in Japan, Calum Salmond. Performing shows under the moniker ELECTRIC CANDY SAND or CALUMECS, he is the go-to man for all things cool in our northern neighbours. Defining dos・ing as "a Tokyo-based record label/production group with the goal of introducing local talent to the international community. The Japanese music scene is such an under represented, emerging-scene, built on the foundations of today's youth. It's because of this that we're excited to be able to share their work with you." With their latest compilation album #DOS002 serving as a soundtrack to a dystopian neo-Tokyo, we are so here for it.
To get to know him a little better, and the valuable work he does for Tokyo and beyond in getting recognition in the international dance community, we are so excited to have him on board for a guest mix on our radio show on FBi Click this week. Take a listen to know, and get acquainted!
