Album Review: Georgia Maq - With A Q 7”

“I could never write poetry, so I try to tell the truth,” Maq sings on What Do You Mean (The Bank’s Out Of Money), the second track off this EP. Truth is, she’s angry and she’s not afraid to show it. She sends out a brusque ‘fuck you’ to Tony Abbott and exclaims in anguish how ridiculous it is that “It’s 2014 and we’re still fighting for equality.” She fits the folk-punk stylings perfectly, with an imposing sense of strength in her vocal delivery and a very direct set of lyrics to accompany it.
