"Aimed fair and square for the 'work Christmas party'."

In the landscape of holiday releases, Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood have aimed fair and square for the 'work Christmas party' genre (they set their second track at just such a venue).

Their carols are not quite recognisable but they are undeniable energetic, festive ("jolly" is probably the correct word) and Christmas-y; ugly Christmas sweaters, wish lists for Santa and mistletoe loving all make appropriately saccharine appearances. Brooks' ageing voice is thankfully in the back seat on this one and Yearwood's warmth is allowed to shine through. She brings intimate, living room warmth to an otherwise fairly corporate holiday affair.
