Grab yourself a projector with abstract psychedelic visuals and whatever pale-ale microbrew is going around and you are set for a great night. The rise of the bedroom producer is here; and I, for one welcome our new musical overlords.
Clam Casino’s second instrumental mixtape hosts some brilliant beats for DJs and music fans who don’t always want to hear rappers spit bottled clichés about how great they are over well-crafted music. ‘Unchain Me’ for example, makes for some creative use of Goo Goo Dolls samples that you would have missed if you only listened to the version on Lil B’s I’m Gay mixtape last year. ‘Leaf’ and ‘Palace’ are also stand-out tracks that are able to be appreciated without A$AP Rocky’s rhymes over the top. Well worth the listen if you are looking for some music to chill out to, but don’t want to fall asleep.
