Having performed and written about life on the war front on his last album, Dust Of Uruzgan, here he heads home with a new child and a new theme. Home is a softer, more introspective album compared to his previous “travelogue” releases. Beautiful Girl and Illawarra Rose are touching, igniting a love of the small things in life. There’s also a lovely rendering of Townes Van Zandt classic, Pancho And Lefty, that, while indulgent, is fitting within the homeward theme.
