Factory Floor
English trio Factory Floor have been releasing 12”s since 2008 so it feels like this eponymous debut is long overdue. It showcases their sparse, dark, electro sound that takes inspiration from early electronic body music, so their recent collaboration with Throbbing Gristle's Chris and Cosey is understandable. Pushing this album forward is the satisfying thump of Gabriel Gurnsey's angular electronic beats, a rock solid foundation for the mechanistic, synthetic repetitions that produce a squarely robotic noise and the hazy, dislocated vocals that occupy a more subliminal and seductive space in the mix.
