"Despite running under an hour, the album does begin to drag somewhere towards the closing tracks"
One EP and several line-up changes later, the matured Envenomed have emerged with a well-polished debut full-length which toes the line between thrash metal guitar work and metalcore hooks.
Despite running under an hour, the album does begin to drag somewhere towards the closing tracks with the band settling into their melodic thrash sound. Still, the quartet’s conviction to their style ultimately pays off, most notably in frontman Anthony Mavrikis’ multi-layered good cop/bad cop vocals, which pull together the reaching solos, chug-laden breakdowns and non-stop drum fills saturating the album.
