Live Review: BIGSOUND Live: Eden Mulholland

Drawing the best out of pop and rock genres

It’s easy to jump to conclusions and write Eden Mulholland off as just another singer that composes predictable pop-infused rock music.

A few songs into the set at Alhambra Lounge however, proves that this isn’t the case. Drawing the best out of pop and rock genres enables the Melbourne based muso to cleverly arrange unexpected tunes that feature textured vocals, unexpected melodic lines and detailed-yet subtle electronics.

It’s not breaking into any new or unchartered compositional territory, but it’s a damn fine performance and is all in all received well.
