More Echo & The Bunnymen More Echo & The Bunnymen

Even down to its most distinct components – Ian McCulloch's expressive voice and Will Sergeant's shimmering guitar – the Bunnymen remain dysfunctional. Meteorites' conception was fraught, the duo having one of their regular fractious timeouts;p McCulloch writing some highly personal songs likely to end up a solo album, Sergeant then invited to filigree a couple of tunes, but fitting so seamlessly his role was expanded – and the result couldn't be called anything but a Bunnymen record. The title track is one of their default sweeping vistas, while Constantinople's Eastern ring also recalls their early '80s heyday.
