Album Review: Eaten By Dogs - Eaten By Dog

StarStarStarHalf Star

This is a smooth, relaxing listen from start to finish.

Oh Eaten By Dogs, whyfore didst thou name your record so badarse when it really is such a chilled, elegant country musing? While the title raises one’s expectations of violence, Eaten By Dogs is very humble and human, a soft Australian night bled out with expansive and atmospheric musicianship. The songs feature gentle guitar-picking, delicate percussion and a voice like day-old campfire coals. A few Americana trappings, particularly in the vocal warbling, tarnish the otherwise glossy surface of the album, but otherwise this is a smooth, relaxing listen from start to finish.
